A Private First Look at the Altar

Carrie and Josh chose a unique and deeply meaningful way to start their wedding day: a private first look at the altar before any guests arrived. It was quiet, intimate, and emotional—just the two of them, standing together in the glow of the Stockroom’s large windows, surrounded by the warm tones of exposed brick and hardwood floors. The emotion in the room was palpable, and it set the tone for the rest of the day. We were able to grab a few quick portraits at this time also.

Ceremony Full of Smiles

From the moment Carrie walked down the aisle, her face was lit up with a grin that never faded. You could tell she was truly in the moment, soaking up every second—and Josh mirrored that joy with a constant smile of his own. It’s always special to witness a couple so clearly overjoyed to be getting married.

Portraits with Brick, Light, and a Little Rain

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the venue’s industrial-chic vibe for portraits. The natural window lightplayed beautifully against the brick walls, giving us a mix of soft elegance and urban edge. Then, with umbrellas in hand, we stepped outside for a few rainy-day portraits in downtown Raleigh. The drizzle added a little whimsy and romance, proving that rain on your wedding day really can be a good thing.

Twinkle Lights, Dancing, and a Cardboard Cameo

As night fell, the reception space came alive. Twinkle lights overhead gave the room a cozy, festive feel, while the hardwood floors turned into a dance floor full of energy. Friends and family didn’t hold back—there was wild dancing, laughter, and non-stop excitement all night long.

And in perhaps one of the most memorable reception moments, a cardboard cutout of Joe Biden made its way onto the dance floor, joining guests for selfies and dance moves alike. It was a hilarious and unforgettable touch that captured the fun, anything-goes spirit of the night.

Final Thoughts

Carrie & Josh’s wedding was the kind of day that reminds you why you love what you do. The love, the laughter, the light—everything came together in the most beautiful way at The Stockroom at 230.
